We are getting more calls from clients whose systems have been compromised by Zeus (ZBot, PRG, Kneber ) or other trojans and several have lost tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. The malware typically captures login credentials to online banking sites (among other things) then sends the info to its master, who then cleans out the client’s bank account.
A good overview of the problem, with recommendations for protecting your system and cleaning up afterward, can be found here, provided by the Financial Services-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (www.fsisac.com).
